Pakistan’s monsoon dead are 47.7% children. Its injured are 33.3%

NDMA’s situation report for 9 August puts the season at 153 dead and 457 injured. Children are nearly half the dead and a third of the injured — the same gap the agency recorded on the identical date last year.

The disaster authority’s daily situation reports put the season’s toll at 109 dead and 362 injured. Set against the report from eight days earlier, deaths are up 132% and damaged houses up 349%.
