Liège had nearly three times its normal deaths in June’s heat week, and it was not the hottest place

Eurostat’s district-level weekly deaths put Arr. Liège first of the 371 districts that have reported, at 2.79 times its four-year median. Paris ran about two degrees hotter and came in at 2.60. An hour north, Flanders barely moved.
