Oklahoma braces for tornadoes as Mississippi tallies 500-home toll from Wednesday outbreak

The Storm Prediction Center on Saturday morning placed a wide swathe of western and central Oklahoma under an enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms, with very large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes possible. Mississippi continued to take stock of damage from the May 6 outbreak, in which fourteen confirmed tornadoes damaged about five hundred homes across five counties.
