Nigeria's July 2026 CPI report says food drove 6.18 points of the 15.43% headline. That is food's 40.02 basket weight times the headline rate, as are all 26 cells — and NBS itself published real decompositions for March and April before reverting in May.
Nigeria's August inflation report credits transport with adding to monthly prices. Its own transport index fell 0.52%
For the fourth month running, the NBS contributions tables are each division's basket weight times the headline rate. Computed from the indices in the same download, food supplied more than all of August's 0.71% monthly rise, while transport, housing and restaurants pulled it down.
